Family History Education

“learning your family history is the key to unlocking who you are” - Unknown

I have designed and deliver a suite of workshops aimed at providing:

  • sound understanding and practical application of the primary research techniques and information sources used by genealogists.
  • an appreciation of the key historical events and social conditions  that may have influenced and shaped the lives of your ancestors.
  • an alternative perspective on your own life and personal values.

These workshops not only cover core genealogical records sets but also encourage participants to think about the unique sequence of events and relationships leading to their own birth. My approach also stimulates discussion about the major influences on our ancestors’ lives that may have shaped our individual personalities.

In addition to ‘classroom’ based education, I also deliver talks on a range of genealogical topics (for example ‘An Introduction to Heraldry’) and undertake ‘one to one’ coaching.

If you don’t know history, you don’t know anything. You are a leaf that doesn’t know it is part of a tree
