“There is no king who has not had a slave amongst his ancestors and no slave who has not had a king among his” - Helen Keller
I offer family history research tailored to your needs.
In more recent times, the growing reach of the internet has brought a vast range of genealogical records to the ‘desktop’. As a consequence, I find that it is often possible to complete research post-dating 1800 using solely online resources.
However, where a project calls for more historic or specialist records, I live within easy reach of several local archives, including all three branches of Suffolk Record Office and those further afield in Norfolk and Essex. I am also prepared to travel to more remote locations as required.
Costs
After a free initial consultation to establish your objectives and requirements, I will provide an estimate of the overall cost. My fees are based on an hourly rate of £30, excluding out of pocket expenses, for example the cost of obtaining birth, marriage or death certificates.
I ask for an up-front deposit of 10% of the total projected costs (minimum deposit £100) in order to secure a research slot. A research contract, detailing the project objectives, research scope, specific deliverables and agreed budget will be issued for your approval before I commence my work. Following issue of the final report, the balance due is payable within 14 days.
Full details of my terms and conditions can be found by clicking here.
